Let Freedom Ring - July 4 at Happy Acres Hall

You're invited to join friends and neighbors at Happy Acres Hall for an informal July 4 celebration, to mark the anniversary of the Hall's opening 63 years ago on July 4, 1953 (then known as the New Moon Pavilion).

Schedule for the day:

3-8 pm - Hall is open
4-5- Organizing meeting of the Rines Tavern Memorial Society (see clip from 1859 map, below)
5-7- Pot luck shared supper

6-8- Open mic for speaking out or singing out

There will be an open grill over wood fire, bring anything you want to grill. The kitchen will be open to support the pot-luck shared supper - please bring something extra to share with others. The Rines Tavern Memorial Society is planned to be the not-for-profit community support group for the Hall - details to be discussed 4-5 pm. Also come ready to share your ideas at the speak-out or bring your instruments to share music at the sing-out 6-8. The event will adjourn at 8 so people can get to other activities they may have planned for the 4th.

Please tell your friends - see you at the Hall on the 4th.

Happy Acres is located at 3704 Bennoch Road, Alton. Phone 394-2363.
